***New for 2024***

  • Medical and dental plans will see an increase, see the benefits guide for details.
  • Deductibles and out of pocket maximums in the HSA plan will be increasing:
    • Deductibles – $3,200 individual/$5,400 family
    • Out of-pocket Max – $5,000 individual/$10,000 family
  • Employer contributions to the HSA will be increasing $100 individual/$200 family:
    • Single with wellness – $950
    • Single without wellness – $650
    • Dependent coverages with wellness – $1,900
    • Dependent coverages without wellness – $1,300
  • Dental plan will now include the Smile Buddies Program! Smile Buddies will cover children up to the age of 14 at 100% care, excluding orthodontics.
  • FEDLogic – This new service provides employees and their household with unlimited and unbiased access to knowledge from experts surrounding federal and state benefits they may be eligible for.

Since all the medical plans cover the same type of health care services, you’ll want to pay attention to differences in coverage for in-network providers and out of network providers, your biweekly rates, and some of the set amounts that you will pay out of pocket up front such as prescription copays, deductibles, coinsurance, and copays in the Surest plan. You’ll want to consider the health care needs of you and your eligible dependents.

If you participate in the Minnesota Star Tribune Wellness program, you can further reduce your out of-pocket costs.
